3 Things You Can Do To Mess Up Your Weight Loss

Want to mess up your weight loss efforts?  Here’s 3 ways to do it:

1 — Jumping on the Scale Too Frequently.  Did you know that your weight can change as much as 5 pounds in a single day?  And what’s more important anyway, the numbers on the scale or how your clothes fit?  To me, it’s the clothes.  Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week.  Better yet, have your body fat taken once a month.

2 — Eating Too Much Processed Foods.   The more natural the foods you eat, the better.  Restrict the amount of foods you eat that come in a bag, box, or wrapper.

3 — Over Emphasizing Low Fat.  Yep. I’m serious.  The fat that we eat has unfairly blamed for the fat on our bodies.  There are things that are a heck of lot worse for us.  Can you say SUGAR?

I’ll have a LOT to say about these things in the coming days.  For now, be aware of these 3 behaviors that can cause you to get off track in your hard work to lose weight.

I agree wholeheartedly. But there are days, the days when I’ve stepped on that scale more than once a week, and and the “second reading” says I’m 5 pounds under. Yippee for me. I look at it like a second opinion. And of course I just ignore the days when it says 5 pounds over.

I’ve been weeding out a lot of processed food and sugar but it’s almost impossible with out being a raw vegan. Can we just shoot the people who make high fructose corn syrup? It’s everywhere!!!

    Hi, Deb —

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate the visit and the comment.

I’m OK at the “Yippee for me” part, but where I would run into trouble is trying to ignore it when it’s 5 pounds over. I have to work at not beating myself up when I falter a little.

    Thanks again,

As far as high fructose corn syrup, I think it’s possible that it’s one of the most evil substances on the market.
