When You Just HAVE to Have Something Sweet…

I firmly believe that, in order for our weight loss efforts to be permanent, we need to treat ourselves occasionally.

After all, it’s unrealistic to think that we are going to live the rest of our lives without a bite of something sweet every now and then.

The key is to make a good “bad” choice when we absolutely have to to grab a bite of something sweet.

With that in mind, here are the 4 choices I usually keep handy for those infrequent treats:

  • Starlight mints, or some other hard candy
  • Tootsie Rolls
  • Sugar free hot chocolate
  • Sugar free Jello

The key to being able to enjoy an occasional treat is to eat something low in calories and that you can control the portions of. Avoid any food that you can not stop yourself from eating.

Don’t be afraid to enjoy a sweet treat every now and then. Just be sure to make a good “bad” choice!

    According to my nutritionist, it’s a much better idea to have a serving of a real sugary treat rather than some garbage like sugar free jello. But whatever, if you’re really that excited about crap food, have fun with that.
